This year has been full of unexpected challenges, but also reminders of what really matters.

My dad is bravely fighting lung cancer, showing strength, hope, and resilience every single day through the hardships of chemo to the emotional adversity of dealing with cancer.

I’ve felt quite powerless and lost. As a control freak it’s hard to deal with something you have no control over, something that is out of your hands and you can’t fix. I wanted to do something, but what? What can I do for the man who taught me how to speak and walk and drive? What can I do for the person who made me the person I am?
The answer is not much. Theres not much I can ever do to repay that, but I can do a little. In honour of him, a portion of every editing project I take on is being dedicated to him, a small way to hold space for his fight, and alleviate financial burdens, while continuing to do the work I love.

Every story I help bring to life now carries a little extra meaning, because it’s tied to family, love, and the battles worth fighting.
